Reservoir Banding Procedures and Additional Information
Vessel Launching Requirements on Tulloch Reservoir
All vessel launching on Tulloch Reservoir must occur exclusively at designated launch sites authorized under the Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Program. In accordance with current AIS protocols, launching from private properties or any unauthorized locations is strictly prohibited. Banding Locations - Tri-Dam Project
Designated Public Access
Please note: The Tuolumne County-operated campground boat launch is the only designated public access point for motorized vessel launching on the reservoir. Until Tuolumne County reopens this boat launch, no authorized method of public access is available.
Vessel Seal Verification and Inspection Records
If you are unsure whether your seal is valid, please see approved inspection locations Banding Locations - Tri-Dam Project. Inspection details are entered into the Watercraft Inspection Database (WID), and boaters receive a text or digital receipt confirming their vessel’s inspection and banding on Tulloch Reservoir.

Boater Compliance Requirements
Boater Requirements During Inspection - During the inspection process, boaters are required to show proof of the following:
- Current Vessel Registration
- Mussel Sticker issued by the DMV
- Boater’s Card for the operator of the vessel (as per California state requirements)
- Any other State Requirements
Banding Colors Details:
- Red Band: Issued for vessels under the 30-day quarantine.
- Green Band: Issued for vessels that have completed the quarantine period or are re-banded when exiting the waters.
